Many of the "Manyoshu" are poems of "Tsukikusa"(Dayflowers) which is a flower that has been familiar to Japanese people since ancient times. It was recited as a symbol of ephemerality because the flowers bloom in the morning and deflate in the daytime. The deep blue petals are painted with three-color gradation, and the stamens are painted with a thick gold texture. The veins of the leaves are painted with white and green. Dew, shown in the surrounding pattern, is painted with white polka dots and a thick platinum texture.
